Prayer Letter 3
Dear Praying friends,
PLease pray for the following things:
PLease pray for the following things:
Work of the hospital in relocating to a new site
- Bureaucracy and overcoming it
- Funds to be raised
- Practicalities of moving premises and the new resources of staff required
- The new A&E in the new building
- Wisdom for Stephen to follow God's agenda not our own
- For resources of christian workers to follow up patients with whom the gospel has been shared
- For encouragement for those labouring here to see some come to faith
For the Brethren Assembly Church here
- For preachers who remain faithful to God's word and for God's spirit to open their eyes to the truths of scripture as they preach. There is some good preaching here but also some "use a verse as a springboard for my own agenda" stuff too.
- For the evening gospel meeting at the hospital - for fruit among patients and staff.
- For Ranjit, the Sikh convert to Christianity, who is going through a difficult time at the moment and has been feeling very down at heart, though he remains strong in his faith.
- For a Hindu lady, a friend of one of the congregation, who has made a profession of faith, and has been a secret christian but has now asked for baptism and is telling her family. Please pray for her at this very difficult and tense time (this weekend).
For Stephen, Claire, Joshua and Ben
- Give thanks for Ben and Joshua's success in their exams - the fruit of some very hard work and God's abundant grace to them.
- Please continue to pray for Stephen and Claire that their family needs may be met as they serve here, and for their needs as parents.
- Please pray for Claire who is dealing with a constant stream of visitors - give thanks for her grace and hospitality although she is very shy, and pray for continued energy and resourcefulness.
- Please pray for Stephen as he works enormously long hours that he may find respite from the demands of the hospital and prioritise his time rightly before God.
For me
- Give thanks for recovered Delhi Belly! - I took some antibiotics in the end and feel like a new man and pray for continued good health.
- Please pray for the remaining time here - on the medical front it has been quite a mixed bag: relatively much less productive and useful than I had hoped. Pray for wisdom in using remaining time wisely and for more learning opportunities.
- Please pray that I may have energy and time in a day to spend revising important things for my clinical finals in the summer.
- Pray for me as I make a decision whether or not to cut short the time at the hospital and use some of the remaining time before Jess comes to travel.
- Please pray for Jess's travel arrangements.
- Please pray for the encounters I have with people where I am able to share the gospel - for boldness in doing so, for the right words and for more opportunities both in the hospital and "out and about".
- Please pray for my personal bible study as I am seeking to understand what God's word says about suffering and about poverty and our right response as Christians
Thank you all for your continued support. The Lord hears and answers your prayers continually.
Love in Jesus
Duncan
